Teaser Trailer Released For “Annabelle”

annAt first I wasn’t sold on the whole Annabelle movie idea. I was afraid there would be a lot of action doll sequences that would cheapen the creepiness of the doll. After seeing this teaser trailer I am feelin’ it! Check out the teaser trailer for yourselves…

“Annabelle” delves into the sinister past of the infamous doll featured in “The Conjuring”.  It takes some wicked and nightmarish shit to tickle the fancy of a demon. Annabelle’s past looks to be horrifying to say the least.  ”Annabelle” is slated for an October 3, 2014 release date.

The film’s directors cast Suleman in part for her name recognition, but were surprised by the level of her acting talent—

"You will be on the edge of your seat from start to finish,” according to Franklin Allen Arceneaux, Co-Director of the film. “Nadya will surprise you. She's a genuine talent and brings the story to life in a shocking way."

The film tells the story of two young friends, a woman (Suleman) and a man, who visit another young woman they met on the internet. Once they arrive at the woman’s remote home, unexplainable things begin to happen. Suleman, who has the lead role, plays a virgin who suddenly becomes impregnated by a demon.

“I feel very fortunate to have been given this opportunity to star in this horror film,” says Suleman, “There are very similar characteristics between my character, Vanessa, and myself, which has made it easier to prepare for my role.”

Former Evanescence Drummer To Score Eric Stanze’s “Stoplight”

RockyFormer Evanescence drummer Rock Gray will  create the musical score for Eric Stanze’s upcoming thriller “Stoplight”. The film is currently in pre-production with a crowd funding campaign happening over on Indiegogo. So far  Adam Ahlbrandt, Eli DeGeer and Jason Christ have signed on for the cast.

Evanescence rose to super fan with the hit songs “Bring Me To Life” and “Sweet Sacrifice”. Rocky Gray left Evanescence in 2007, starting his own record label which signed the band Fatal Thirteen. He is also currently drumming for several other band’s projects which I am sure keeps him busy. It will be cool to see his influence on the feel on Stanze’s thriller.

Pagan Festival Shout Out: Festival Of Castor And Pollux

Castor PolluxCastor and Pollux, in Roman mythology, were the twin demi-god offspring of Jupiter and Leda and equivalent to the Dioscuri of Greek mythology. They are also represented in the constellation Gemini. Pollux was considered immortal whilst his brother was mortal; both were particularly associated with cavalry and the cult of the twins went back to the mid-6th century BCE in Italy. The original temple in Rome was dedicated by the Roman general Aulus Postumius who won a great victory against the Latins in the Battle of Lake Regillus (499 or 496 BCE).

During the battle two young men riding white horses were said to have appeared and guided the Romans to victory and then were seen again after the battle watering their horses at the Juturna Spring in Rome, hence the subsequent dedication to the famous cavalry twins and choice of location for the temple next to the fountain. Parts of the original temple's podium survive and hint at its great size. Every 15th of July the temple was the focus of a cavalry parade - the transvectio - of 5,000 men led by two impersonators of the heroes who commemorated the victory at Regillus.
